ULLA JOHNSON

In her self-described ode to NYC, and in honor of her artisan partners around the world, Ulla Johnson recast her free-spirited collection with details culled from Japanese culture and crafted globally, from Peru to Nairobi to India. Shibori- and ikebana-inspired prints translate to beautifully flowing ruffled maxis separates (pair the latter with poplin tops and acid wash denim). Other hero pieces include crochet hand-woven by artisans in Peru and linen lace hand-cut in India.

The buy: Something crochet. The peplum crochet tank, which took four months to create, is “the sort of thing you cherish forever. I call it ‘future vintage.’”—Lisa Aiken, Fashion Director
